Beach Volleyball Preview: at Beach Blast

UNCW takes on Erskine and the College of Charleston beginning on Friday

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – UNCW concludes a busy week this weekend with four duals at the Beach Blast from Creekside Tennis & Swim Club. The Seahawks will take on both Erskine and host College of Charleston twice over the two-day event.

The Seahawks split a pair of duals on Wednesday, falling to Sun Belt Conference rival Coastal Carolina, 3-2, before bouncing back with a shutout win over Erskine later in the day.

UNCW stands at 6-5 on the season while CofC is 8-5 and has won its last five outings. The Flying Fleet, though, is 2-12 and owns a 10-dual losing streak.

At the top pairing for the Seahawks are junior Sadie Sharkey and freshman Gabby LaPata. The duo has fashioned an 8-3 mark and has won their last six matches. They were recognized as the Sun Belt Conference Pair of the Week earlier in the week.
