Seahawks Finish Strong At Cavalier Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Lauren Sharp posted the ninth-fastest time in the 200 Breaststroke for UNCW on Sunday to highlight the final day of the Cavalier Invitational.

Sharp finished second in the 200 Breast prelims with a season-best time of 2:18.51, lifting her to ninth all-time at UNCW. Hannah Owings also fashioned a season-best time in the race with a mark of 2:22.01. Emily Oettinger placed eighth with a time of 2:30.95.

In the 100 Backstroke, Quinn Bike (2:20.19) and Rachel Jones (2:02.20) finished second and third, respectively, and fashioned season-best times.

Bethany Tart led a Seahawks trio in the top seven in the 100 Freestyle. Tart took fourth with a season-best time of 51.71 seconds followed by Morgan Kondratick (52.20) and Molly Braun (52.22) in sixth and seventh, respectively.

UNCW next competes in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships (Feb. 22-25) in Hampton, Va. The men enter the meet looking to defend their title from last season while the women hope to make that final leap following a second-place showing in 2022.
