Seahawks Claim B Doubles Title At Duke

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Juniors Bekhzod Rasamatov and Reece Falck captured the championship of the B Doubles bracket at Duke's Bonk Invite to highlight the UNCW men's tennis team's performances on Sunday.
 
The Seahawks, making their first appearance of the fall at two different sites, sent four players to the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Center to compete in the Duke Bonk Invite, while the remainder of the team competed in the Jersey Mike's Seahawk Fall Invitational at Porters Neck Country Club.
 
Rasamatov and Falck edged Virginia Tech's Alvaro Ariza and Jordan Chrysostom, 7-6 (5), for the B Doubles crown in Cary. The tandem defeated opponents from Yale and Tech en route to the championship.
 
In other action, graduate student Davide Innocenti and sophomore Trey Mallory topped East Tennessee State's Dimitri Badra and Pedro Cressoni for third place in the B Doubles bracket.
 
Meanwhile, on the clay courts at Porters Neck, the Seahawks went 5-1 on the day, collecting five titles. Freshman Alex DeGabriele won the A-Singles East final and teamed up with Jacco Arends to win the A-Doubles finale over N.C. Wesleyan's Tshepo Mosarwa and Sean Keane.
