Sandy Hawks Move To 3-1 At ASUN Tournament

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – UNCW improved to 3-1 in pool play at the ASN Conference Championship on Saturday with wins over rival the College of Charleston and Eastern Kentucky.

The Seahawks pushed their record to 25-10 with the two wins.

UNCW knocked off the Cougars in the first dual of the day, 4-1. The Seahawks earned straight set wins in the first three matches to clinch the dual and split the last two, winning in three at the top pairing behind Mattie Johnson and Grace Sistrunk.

Against 12th-seeded Eastern Kentucky, the Seahawks rolled past the Colonels with five straight-set victories. Kaley McLaughlin and Jadyn Barry cruised at the fifth pairing, allowing just 18 points between the two sets.

The Seahawks take on Mercer in their final dual of pool play on Sunday. First-serve is set for 12:30 p.m. EST. UNCW is tied with Charleston at 3-1 in pool play while top-seeded Stetson is perfect at 4-0. The top two teams in each pool advance to Monday's semifinal round.
