Baseball Preview: at Delaware

NEWARK, DEL. – The Seahawks visit Delaware in a key Colonial Athletic Association series beginning on Friday with a 7 p.m. start at Bob Hannah Stadium.

The Seahawks (21-14, 6-3 CAA) moved into second in the league standings following a sweep of Towson last weekend. The Blue Hens (21-14) meanwhile, sit in fifth place with a 5-4 mark in league play. UD dropped its series last weekend at Hofstra.

The two programs last met in Newark during the 2018 season and the Blue Hens earned a series win. The Seahawks own a 15-10 record at Bob Hannah Stadium.

UNCW will look to its freshman rotation for a third straight weekend. Through nine starts, the staff of RS Sales, Cyle Phelan and Zane Taylor have combined for a 2.20 earned run average and held opponents to a .198 batting average.

The series continues Saturday with first pitch set for 3 p.m. and concludes with a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.
