Beach Volleyball Preview: Vs. Morehead State/at Catawba

SALIBURY, N.C. – UNCW visits Catawba Tuesday for a pair of duals against Morehead State (2 p.m.) and Catawba (5 p.m.) in its final tune up for the upcoming ASUN Conference Championship later this month in Huntsville, Ala.

The Seahawks carry a 19-9 mark into the duals in a historic season for the program. The previous record for wins in a season was 13, set in 2017. UNCW also owns a 9-3 mark in ASUN play in its first season as a member of the conference.

Last weekend, Brianna Haggerty, a sophomore, became the single-season wins record-holder with 19. Haggerty, who also plays on the indoor team, is in her first season as a member of the beach program.

Also having fine seasons are sophomore Ellie Bucci and junior Ashley Thompson both won 18 matches this season.

The ASUN Championships begin on Apr. 22.
