Hunter Snags Fifth In ECAC Triple Jump

BOSTON, Massachusetts – Sophomore Jayda Hunter posted back-to-back personal bests to finish fifth in the Women's Triple Jump on Saturday at the ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
 
Hunter, from Jacksonville, soared 39-08.75 on her second jump of the day to reach the finals. She then posted marks of 40-4 and 40-5 to break the school record and finish fifth to earn four points for the team.
 
Earlier in the day, junior Courtney Lines, who captured first place in the Long Jump on Saturday, placed seventh overall in the Women's 60 Meters with a time of 7.79 for two points. Senior Tori Whimple also competed in the Triple Jump, hitting a 38-7 for her best mark of the day on the first attempt, narrowly missing the finals.
 
The Seahawks finished 19th out of 60 teams that scored in the overall standings with 16 points.
