WILMINGTON, N.C. – A three-game weekend series against St. Bonaventure awaits the hot-hitting UNCW softball team at Boseman Field.

The game will be featured on FloSports with Elijah Mize calling the action for Saturday's doubleheader at noon followed by a booth of Jim Whitmeyer and Tom Lamont in Sunday's noon finale. As usual, live stats will be available on UNCWStats.com.

The Seahawks (12-3) took three of four games last weekend against Canisius and NC Central. The Bonnies (1-5) face their second straight Colonial Athletic Association opponent after dropping two games at Elon last weekend.

Last weekend, sophomore second baseman Tayler Vitola reached base safely in all four games and hit .615 (8-for-13) to lead the Seahawks while catcher Anna Knox smashed a go-ahead home run in a 4-1 win over Canisius on Saturday.

Four Seahawk pitchers tossed complete games to the tune of a 1.46 ERA. Freshman righty Emily Winstead fanned 10 of the 19 strikeouts recorded by Seahawk spinners.

UNCW's dominant pitching effort included a two-hitter by junior Amberlyn Pearce on Friday. The next morning, freshman Kara Hammock fired a one-hitter.

The Bonnies, meanwhile, are led by sophomore outfielder Brooke Bobbey who is hitting .316 on the year, including a three-hit game at Hampton on Feb. 19.

Senior right-hander Ally Haskell leads the team with 12 innings pitched over two games. The Franklinville, N.Y., product paces the Bonnies staff with a 2.33 ERA.

Following the weekend, the Seahawks will welcome the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to Boseman Field for a three-game weekend series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 12, at noon.
