Beach Volleyball Preview: at Carolina Challenge

UNCW to face two nationally-ranked programs this weekend in Columbia, S.C.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – UNCW visits Columbia, S.C., this weekend when they compete in the Carolina Challenge beginning on Friday at 9 a.m. against UAB.

The Seahawks tournament schedule includes duals with Jacksonville on Friday and a pair of nationally-ranked programs in #19 Stetson and #14 South Carolina on Saturday. Links to live results for all duals can be found here.

UNCW carries a 16-4 record into the weekend following a 3-1 mark last weekend at the CofC Beach Blast. The Seahawks lost rival Charleston, 3-2, before bouncing back with a 5-0 win against Huntingdon. That win broke the program's previous win-record of 13 in a season.

Ellie Bucci and Tessa Rogers have fashioned a 15-4 mark this season while playing primarily at the third pairing. With 15 wins, they have tied the program record for wins by a pair.

Also enjoying a run of success has been the pairing of Jadyn Barry and Maddy Folks, who have rattled off nine straight wins since debuting against North Alabama on Mar. 10.

With 16 wins, the Seahawks are tied with Charleston and 20th-ranked FGCU for the ASUN lead in wins.
