Two More Wins For The Sandy Hawks

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – UNCW finished off a strong weekend with two more wins on Saturday at the CofC Beach Blast, knocking off Tusculum (5-0) and Erskine (4-1) in convincing fashion.

The Seahawks improved to 16-4 on the season with the sweep.

Against Tusculum, the first dual of the day, only the fifth pairing was pushed to three sets. Maddy Folks and Jadyn Barry dropped the first set, 21-19, but forced a third set with a 22-20 win. In the final set, it was all UNCW with a 15-8 win.

Barry and Folks continued their winning ways in the day's second dual. The two extended their winning streak to 10 matches with another three-setter against Erskine n the fourth pairing. It was their first appearance in the fourth slot this season.

UNCW won at four of the five pairings against the Fleet.

The Seahawks take on UAB and Jacksonville on April 1 in Columbia, S.C., at the Carolina Challenge.
