Beach Volleyball Heads To Charleston This Weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Following a brief homestand that saw the Seahawks improve to 13-3 and match the program record for wins in a season, UNCW heads to the CofC Beach Blast this weekend hosted by the College of Charleston beginning on Friday.

The two-day event will see the Seahawks and host Cougars meet for a second time this season as well as duals against Tusculum, Erskine and Huntingdon.

The Seahawks topped the Cougars, 3-2, last weekend in Wilmington and halted a modest three-dual losing skid against their rivals.

Ellie Bucci and Tessa Rogers carry a 13-3 mark as a pairing, including an 8-2 mark since moving up to the third pairing. Last weekend they knocked off CofC's Maria Zweig and Emma Falk in three sets to hand them their first loss of the season.

Also enjoying winning streaks as pairs are Brianna Haggerty and Kaley McLaughlin at six straight and Jadyn Barry and Maddy Folks have won five in a row.

Next for the Seahawks is the Carolina Challenge, hosted by South Carolina, on Apr. 1-2.
