Beach Volleyball To Recognize Seniors This Weekend

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW's beach volleyball program will honor seniors Kristy Witte and Mattie Johnson on Saturday prior to their dual against Mercer at Capt'n Bill's Backyard Grill and Volleyball Facility.

The Seahawks host the College of Charleston and Liberty, in addition to Mercer, for a tournament this weekend with a round-robin on Saturday and a pairs tournament on Sunday. First serve for the Mercer dual is 10 a.m.

UNCW carries a six-dual winning streak into the weekend following a sweep of visiting Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday. The sweep also gave the Seahawks 11 wins, the highest total in the ASUN conference and the most since 2018 season when UNCW was 12-16.

The tournament will be UNCW's final home event of the season. The Seahawks have fashioned a 6-0 mark at home.

UNCW heads to Charleston next weekend for the CofC Beach Blast in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
