LYNCHBURG, Virginia – The UNCW women's track and field indoor team won three events and set two school records on Saturday at the Liberty Open Invitational hosted by Liberty at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

The Seahawks took first place in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump, setting new indoor marks in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. The meet represented the second of five regular season indoor competitions for the team.

Senior
Courtney Lines soared 20-04.25 to take first place in the Long Jump and climbed to No. 17 in the country in the event. The top-16 automatically qualify for the indoor nationals.

Maddie Norr claimed first place in the High Jump with a leap of 5-03.25 and senior Tori Whimple took gold in the Triple Jump with a school-record mark of 39-0.50.

Lines and Whimple each punched tickets to the ECAC Indoor Championships. Overall, the Seahawks recorded five top-10 all-time marks on the day.
A total of 28 colleges and universities competed in the meet. NCAA Division I squads entered in the meet include Campbell, Citadel, Delaware State, Liberty, Marshall, Maryland Eastern Shore, North Carolina Central, UMBC, UNCW and William & Mary.
The Seahawks return to Lynchburg next weekend to compete in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
