Men's Golf Preview: at Wolfpack Invitational

Seahawks visit Raleigh for the tournament on Oct. 15-16

RALEIGH, N.C. – UNCW heads to Raleigh this weekend for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club, on Oct. 15-16.

The tournament will have 36 holes on Saturday followed by 18 on Sunday. Joining the Seahawks (88th in Golfstat rankings) and host Wolfpack are Bellarmine, East Carolina, Elon, Jacksonville, James Madison, Lipscomb (37), Miami (Ohio), Richmond, Temple, Texas Southern, UNCG (55), Chattanooga (89) and Western Carolina (84).

The Lonnie Poole Golf Course measures 7,282 yards and plays to a par of 72.

The Seahawks are making their sixth appearance in the tournament with the last being in the fall of 2019. UNCW's has posted a pair of fifth-place finishes and has never finished lower than ninth.

Junior Walker Isley earned his second tournament title with a strong finish at the J.T. Poston Invitational earlier this month. Isley recorded four birdies over the final seven holes for a two-stroke victory. The Seahawks finished fifth in the 17-team field.

Walker will lead a Seahawk lineup that includes Patrick Sparks, Gray Mitchum, Rune Bokeid and Sander Akeren. Kenny Walter will compete as an individual.

UNCW closes out the fall schedule next weekend with the Williams Cup on Oc. 21-23 at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington.
