Beach Volleyball Preview: at Coastal Carolina

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW treks to Conway, S.C., this weekend for the Coastal Carolina Invitational where they'll take on four opponents over the course of two days.

UNCW opens the weekend on Friday against nationally-ranked South Carolina and longtime rival the College of Charleston. On Saturday, the Seahawks will face another nationally-ranked program in Stetson before closing out the tournament schedule against host Coastal Carolina.

The Seahawks opened the season going 1-3 at the North Florida Invitational. UNCW fell to both North Florida and Charleston on the first day before gaining its first win of the season against Erskine. Mercer capped the UNCW weekend with a 5-0 win later in the day on Saturday.

The pairing of Reagan Evans and Casey Goodwin went 2-2 on the tournament, playing at the second pairing.

UNCW should be a full strength this weekend after Covid protocols limited the program to eight players last weekend. Joanmarie (JM) Lewandowski returns for her final season after going 4-5 in a shorted 2020 season.
