Duggan, Witte Earn Win In Loss To CofC

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The College of Charleston posted sweeps on three courts to beat UNCW, 4-1, in beach volleyball action on Saturday at Capt'n Bill's Backyard Grill.

The Cougars improved to 7-8-1 while the Seahawks slid to 3-9. The Seahawks honored seniors Joanmarie (JM) Lewandowski, Casey Goodwin and Elena Turnbull.

CofC clinched the dual with a win in the second pairing.

UNCW's Mya Duggan and Kristy Witte gave the Seahawks their lone win of the dual, winning in straight sets, 21-17 and 24-22.

Ellie Bucci and Tyla Cutrie of UNCW pushed their opponent to a third set, but CofC's Jasmin Goei and Marie Martinsen won 15-13 in the third set.

The Seahawk Invitational concludes on Sunday with a three-tiered pairs tournament beginning at 8 a.m.
