Beach Volleyball Preview: UNCW Invitational

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The Seahawks play their lone home event of the season, the UNCW Invitational, this weekend when they host a combination of NCAA and college club programs in a two-day event beginning on Saturday at Capt'n Bill's Backyard Grill.

"For our UNCW Invitational, I wanted to bring in strong competition, from not too far away (since we're in a pandemic) and from different levels to help grow the game," said Associate Head Coach David Fischer. "A good pair is a good pair, and this weekend will stress competitiveness and athleticism over classification."

UNCW will honor and recognize their four seniors in Joanmarie (JM) Lewandowski, Reagan Evans, Casey Goodwin and Elena Turnbull.

Joining the Seahawks at the NCAA level are longtime rival College of Charleston. The Seahawks and Cougars have already played three times this season with CofC holding a 2-1 lead in the series.

Saturday's schedule is dual events while Sunday will showcase a pairs tournament with three flights.
