UNCW Sweeps Jacksonville To Gain Split

CHARLESTON, S.C. – UNCW opened its weekend appearance at the College of Charleston Invitational splitting a pair of duals with Jacksonville and host Charleston.
The Seahawks moved their record to 3-7 with the day's results.

"We had a great bounce-back win against Jacksonville with a sweep," said Associated Head Coach David Fischer. "Mya (Duggans) and Reagan (Evans) were especially steady for us today."

UNCW blanked Jacksonville in the day's final dual, 5-0. The Seahawks posted sweeps at the first, third and fourth pairings while Chrissy Augustine and Sadie Sharkey edged Olivia Szyszkiewicz and Giao Huynh, 15-12 in the third set to complete the shutout.

In the opener, wins at the fourth and fifth pairings gave UNCW a 2-0 lead. CofC, however, was able to sweep UNCW at the top-three pairings for the 3-2 win.
The pairing of Mya Duggan and Reagan Evans went 2-0 at the fourth pairing on the day.

UNCW and Coastal Carolina meet at noon on Sunday in their final dual of the tournament.
