UNCW Wins Five Events In Tri-Meet

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – UNCW women's swimming and diving program won five events but dropped a pair of meets to Campbell and UNC Asheville on Saturday at the Johnson Aquatic Center.

It was a pair of close losses for the Seahawks (1-3), who fell 151-148 to UNCA and 135-126 to host Campbell.

In diving, which was held at the Seahawk Natatorium, UNCW's Courtney Klausen posted a pair of NCAA Zone qualifying scores and set a new career-best in the 3-meter board. Klausen, who won both boards, recorded her career-best with a score of 301.13. It was just the second score, all-time for the Seahawks, to surpass the 300-point mark.

Trinity McNall and Tatum Church finished second and third, respectively, in both boards.

Freshman Molly Braun won both the 100 and 200 Butterflies with times of 57.91 seconds in the 100 and a season-best time of 2:06.61 in the 200.

Katie Knorr, another freshman, delivered a win in the 200 IM when she touched the wall in a season-best 2:08.91.

Next up for UNCW is a tri-meet at Duke with Boston College on Oct. 29-30, at the Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion.
