Baseball Preview: at #13 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – UNCW opens a four-game road stretch Tuesday when it visits nationally-ranked NC State for a 4 p.m. first-pitch at Doak Field.

The Seahawks continue their brief roadswing with three games this weekend at Kentucky. The series opens Friday with a 4 p.m. start at Kentucky Proud Stadium.

UNCW carries a 6-2 mark into today's game with the undefeated Wolfpack (7-0) in the first of the annual home-and-home series between the two programs.

Red-shirt sophomore Brody Lawson (0-0) will take the mound for his second start of the young season. Lawson allowed one run over four innings in his season debut at Coastal Carolina last week.

Tanner Wells and Jac Croom both it .500 last week as the Seahawks went 3-1, including a weekend sweep of Bowling Green and Marshall at the Hughes Bros. Challenge.  UNCW hit .307 as a team while the pitching staff held opponents to a meager .217 average.

Tuesday's game will be streamed on ACC extra and can be heard online and in Wilmington on ESPN AM630 beginning with the pregame show at 3:45 p.m.
