UNCW Falls Twice At Palmetto Beach Classic

COLUMBIA, S.C. – UNCW dropped both duals on Friday at the Palmetto Beach Classic hosted by South Carolina as the Seahawks wind up their regular season this weekend in Columbia, S.C.

Versus Tulane
The Seahawks gained the early lead with Tulane forfeiting the fifth pairing and Raquel Rooney and Brynn Montgomery posting a two-set sweep at the fourth position. The Green Wave, however, responded with wins in the top two positions and picked up the final point for the win as Joanmarie (JM) Lewandowski and Halle Hunt lost 15-13 in set three.

Versus College of Charleston
Katie McCullough and Maddy Kline earned UNCW's lone win of the dual, winning the first pairing by the scores of 23-21 and 21-18. Anna Grauel and Reagan Evans fell in three sets at the fifth pairing.

The Seahawks take on Missouri State and 11th-ranked South Carolina at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, on Saturday.
