Beach Volleyball Preview: GSU Diggin' Duals

Atlanta, Ga. - UNCW looks to carry its momentum from last weekend's strong performance at the Dig & Dive Beach Classic into this weekend's tournament as they compete at the Georgia State Diggin' Duals beginning on Friday.

The Seahawks will play three of their four duals on the weekend on Friday, beginning at 10 a.m. against Tampa (8-7). UNCW (7-6) plays host #19 Georgia State (13-9) at 2 p.m. and wraps up the day with an 8 p.m. first-serve against Arizona State (10-8). The final dual of the weekend will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. against UAB (9-7).

UNCW posted a 3-1 mark last weekend in its lone home tournament of the season. The Seahawks blanked both Morehead State and Tusculum and then trimmed Coastal Carolina, 3-2. The lone loss was to Florida Gulf Coast, 5-0.

All four opponents this weekend are ranked or receiving votes in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll.

Senior Halle Hunt leads UNCW with a 10-3 record through 13 duals while Katie McCullough and Joanmarie (JM) Lewandowski are both 8-5.

The Seahawks will close out their regular season next weekend at the Palmetto Invitational, hosted by South Carolina, on Apr. 12-13.
