Kline Moves Into Tie For Wins Leader

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – UNCW split a pair of duals on Saturday at the Islander Beach Classic as senior Maddy Kline moved into a tie for the program's all-time lead in wins.

With the split, the Seahawks moved to 2-5. UNCW knocked off Houston Baptist, 4-1, but fell 3-2 to host Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

UNCW 4, Houston Baptist 1

Kline and Brynn Montgomery cruised to a 21-13,21-17 win at the first pairing to give Kline her 41st career win, tying her with Sarah Kelly as the program's all-time leader. The Seahawks picked up three-set wins in the third and fourth pairings as Halle Hunt and Raquel Rooney won 21-19, 17-21,16-14 and JM Lewandowski and Katie McCullough earned a point with a 13-21, 21-18, 16-14 victory.

Texas A&M Corpus Christi 3, UNCW 2
The Seahawks won duals at the third and fourth pairings, but we unable to pick up the win. Jaime Thomas and Kate McCullough earned a win at the third position (21-14, 21-15) and Lewandowski and Hunt won 23-21,21-19 in the fourth.

The Seahawks close out the tournament with matches against TCU and A&M Corpus Christi on Saturday.
