Beach Volleyball Falls Twice On Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UNCW's beach volleyball program opened its season on Friday with a pair of 4-1 setbacks to the College of Charleston and North Florida at the UNF Invitational.

Third-pairing team of senior Katie McCullough and sophomore Kyla Augustine earned UNCW's lone win in the Charleston dual, topping Allison Beckman and Logan Manusky (17-21, 21-19, 15-12) in three sets.

Against host North Florida, senior Halle Hunt and freshman Lexie Hamilton edged Nicole DeBolt and Jessi Freeman in three (16-21, 22-20, 15-11) in the fourth pairing.

The final dual of the afternoon against Saint Leo was postponed to Saturday morning by bad weather. The tournament concludes on Saturday with a pairings tournament.
