Seahawks Open Indoor Season At JDL

WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – Freshman Victoria Whimple placed seventh in the Triple Jump as the women's track and field team opened the indoor season on Saturday with an appearance in the JDL College Kickoff Classic.
 
The Seahawks featured 14 participants at the JDL Fast Track in the first of four indoor meets during the fall-winter campaign.
 
Whimple, from Castleton, N.Y., registered a mark of 37-5.75 to place seventh out of 25 competitors in the Triple Jump competition. In addition, senior sprinter Jahnae Bowman came in third in her heat in the 60 Meters qualifying with a time of 7.94.
 
The Seahawks next compete in the Liberty Kickoff at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex on Jan. 24-25 in Lynchburg, Va.
