Lowe, Cannon Win Multi Events For UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Adyson Lowe won both diving events for the UNCW women and Sean Cannon added a pair of wins for the men, but East Carolina earned a sweep of the host Seahawks in swimming and diving action on Saturday at the Seahawk Natatorium.

The Seahawks dropped to 0-2 on the season for the women while the men slipped to 1-1. The Pirates, meanwhile, ran their records to 2-1 on both sides.

Lowe, who was named Colonial Athletic Association Diver-of-the-Week earlier this month, gave the Seahawks wins in the 1 and 3-meter boards. She posted scores of 285.7 and 307.2, respectively.

Cannon, who also was a CAA honoree earlier this month, posted a sweep of the freestyle sprints for the second time in as many outings. Cannon fashioned times of 21.02 and 49.58 seconds, respectively.

Also adding wins for UNCW were Jack Cosgrove (1:41.13) and Noah Cahan (50.88).

The women's 400 Free Relay of Faith Pilcher, Meghan Lahr, Annie Shirk and Evan Arsenault took first in the meet finale with a time of 3:31.12.

The Seahawks return to action on Nov. 3-4 when they visit Delaware for the annual Colonial Athletic Association pod meet in Newark, Del.
