Beach Volleyball Concludes Season At CCSA Tourney

 
CARTERSVILLE, Georgia – UNCW concluded pool play on Saturday with losses to Tulane and nationally-ranked FIU at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association tournament at the LakePoint Sporting Community.

The Seahawks end the season with a 13-13 record, which is two more wins than in their inaugural season a year ago.

Against Tulane, the Green Wave posted straight set wins in four of the five pairings as Sydney Alvis and Bella Borgiotti fell in three sets to Tulane's Anna Chin and Sarah Strasner.

In the season finale, Katie McCullough and Sarah Kelly topped FIU's Helen Thelle and Natalie Giron in straight sets in the third position. Emily Corrigan and Maddy Kline fell in three sets at the number two position.

"I would like to commend the CCSA for putting on a top-notch championship," said UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek. "This was a needed experience for our team to compete against the best teams in the East. Our results this weekend doesn't showcase the close battles that took place against each opponent. The losses are tough, but I'm proud of the progress we made this year as a program."
