"Even though we split today, I was proud of the fight we showed against both Jacksonville State and South Carolina," said UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek. "We have the right intent with a lot of choices on the court, but we need to execute more efficiently to be successful against better opponents."

Against Jacksonville State, UNCW lost just won set while sweeping through four other matches. The pairs team of Raquel Rooney and Maddy Kline were dominant in their 21-11, 21-7 win at the four-spot in the lineup.

South Carolina, ranked 12th nationally, swept all five matches in taking the win. UNCW's Emily Corrigan and Katie McCullough had their four-match winning streak halted with a 21-17, 21-19 setback to Katie Zimmerman and Macie Tendrich.

The Seahawks close out the regular season on Saturday with duals against Tulane and College of Charleston.
