Beach Volleyball Preview: UNCW Beach Blast

 
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW's Beach Volleyball programs hosts the UNCW Beach Blast tournament this weekend, beginning on Saturday at Dig & Dive. Joining the Seahawks are Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, Mercer, Stevenson and the College of Charleston.

The Seahawks had an eight-dual winning streak snapped last weekend at the CofC Beach Classic. UNCW topped Mercer and Lincoln Memorial on the opening day of the tournament, but was swept by nationally-ranked Tulane and tournament host Charleston on the second day.

South Carolina enters the weekend ranked 11th in the AVCA poll while CofC is receiving votes.

UNCW's pair of Sydney Alvis and Sarah Kelly has posted a record of 9-3 to lead the Seahawks. Meanwhile, Tanna Aljoe/Nicole Lott and Emily Corrigan/Katie McCullough have both posted marks of 8-4.

Admission to the tournament is free.
