We got off to a great start tonight with the 200 Free relays winning on both the men and women side," said Head Coach Jason Memont. "Our women set a meet record in that event and the momentum carried over into the rest of the night. We were able to drop time from the morning in almost all our individual swims, which is a testament to how much hard work the team has put in this semester. I'm very proud of the effort the team put in tonight and hope that it carries over into the morning session. Evan Arsenault continues to put together an incredible freshman campaign and has become an instant leader for our relays and sprint events which can be felt all the way through our lineup."

The relay of freshman Faith Pilcher, juniors Megan Lahr and Caitlin Cockcroft and freshman Evan Arsenault combined to post a meet-record time of 1:32.08 to give UNCW a quick boost.
Arsenault added a win in the 50 Free with a time of 22.99 seconds.

In Diving, Adyson Lowe placed second in the 3-meter board to score points for the Seahawks.

On the men's side, the relay of sophomore Jack Cosgrove, freshman Tom McGovern and sophomores John Suits and Sean Cannon picked up UNCW's first even win a sweep of the 200 Free Relay when it touched the wall in a time of 1:22.07.

Cannon gave the Seahawks a sweep of the 50 Free (20.56) while McGovern finished second (20.74).

Cosgrove, sophomore Ben Whitty, freshman Connor Forsythe and Cannon capped the day's success with a win in the 400 Medley Relay.

The meet continues on Friday with the preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. followed by Diving at noon. The day wraps up with the finals session kicking off at 6 p.m.
