Seahawks Top UL Monroe For Saturday Split


SIESTA KEY, Florida – UNCW split a pair of 3-2 decisions, losing to nationally-ranked Florida Atlantic but rebounding against Louisiana Monroe for the win on Saturday at the Fiesta at Siesta Key Tournament in Siesta Key, Fla.

The Seahawks moved their record 8-10 in their inaugural season with the split.

In the day's opener, UNCW picked up wins in the second and third positions, but fell in the other three as the Owls picked up the win. Earning wins in that dual were Bella Borgiotti and Katie McCullough and Maddy Kline and Ashleigh Crutcher.

UNCW gained a split with an impressive win against ULM as the Seahawks notched wins in the third, fourth and fifth positions. Kline and Crutcher won in the third position to go 2-0 on the day. Sydney Alvis and Sarah Kelly won in the fourth slot while Halle Hunt and Courtney Mullinax won in the fifth.

The Seahawk take on third-ranked Florida State at 11:30 a.m. and TCU at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
