Beach Volleyball Heads To Palmetto Invitational


WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW beach volleyball program concludes its inaugural season this weekend when it competes in the Palmetto Invitational hosted by South Carolina.

The Seahawks will pace Carson-Newman and Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. On Sunday it'll be host South Carolina at 11 a.m. and nationally-ranked LSU at 1 p.m.

UNCW (8-13) posted a 1-3 mark last weekend at the Fiesta in Siesta Key tournament in Florida. The Seahawks split a pair of 3-2 decisions on Saturday falling to nationally-ranked Florida Atlantic before topping Louisiana Monroe. UNCW dropped both matches on Sunday to third-ranked Florida State (5-0) and TCU (4-1).

The pairing of Ashleigh Crutcher and Maddy Kline has posted a team-best record of 9-10, including a 9-9 mark in the third position while Bella Borgiotti and Katie McCullough have posted a 6-4 record in the second position and 8-13 overall.

Individually, Kline has a team-high 10 wins while Crutcher and Halle Hunt have nine apiece.
