UNCW Drops Two On Sunday To FSU, TCU

SIESTA KEY, Florida – UNCW finished its weekend schedule at the Fiesta on Siesta Key Tournament with a pair of losses to third-ranked Florida State and TCU.

The losses dropped the Seahawks to 8-13 on the season as they enter their final weekend of competition at the Palmetto Invitational hosted by South Carolina on Apr. 16-17 in Columbia, S.C.

"This was another learning weekend for us against season-competition," said UNCW assistant coach David Fischer. "Our opponents were able to take away several shots and forced us into attacking different areas of the court. We need to learn how to make the same adjustments quicker."

The Seahawks were swept, 5-0, in the first dual of the day.

In the second dual, Bella Borgiotti and Katie McCullough earned UNCW's lone win of the afternoon as the duo swept TCU's Olivia Canales and Shane Peters in the second position by identical scores of 21-17.

"We learned a lot this weekend and look forward to finishing our inaugural season on a high note."
