Gargula Finishes CAA Pod Meet Strong


NEWARK, Delaware – Catherine Gargula continued her strong early season performance for the UNCW Women's team, but the Seahawks were swept in both meets on Sunday at the Colonial Athletic Association pod meet hosted by Delaware at the Rawstrom Natatorium.

The Seahawk women were topped by James Madison (255-98), William & Mary (237-110) and host Delaware (243-110). The men's team was edged by Delaware (179-174) and fell to W&M (249-98).

Gargula placed second in the women's 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:04.59.

On the men's side, Daniel Dozier and Zach Sowers had fifth-place finishes in the 200 Breaststroke and 200 Fly for UNCW's top finishes on the Sunday.
UNCW returns to the pool Nov. 19-21, when it closes out the fall semester with the Patriot Invitational in Fairfax, Va.
