With the season just around the corner, we'll take a look at the UNCW baseball program and the players who make up the roster. 

Junior righthander Evan Phillips finished his sophomore season with a 2-4 record in 11 appearances, including eight starts. He limited opponents to a .231 batting average.

The Seahawks open the 2015 season with Richmond on Feb. 13, as part of the Buffalo Wild Wings Battle at the Beach Classic.

EP: I fell in love with UNCW's campus and also was extremely excited to be a part of the baseball team.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Describe a moment when you felt the most Seahawk pride.
EP: I felt the most Seahawk pride when we knocked off #1 UNC, in Chapel Hill.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Take us through your pre-game mental preparation routine.
EP: My pre-game mental preparation routine starts with listening to some of my favorite music and relaxing with my teammates in the locker room.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What are some community activities you or your team have done?
EP: As a team, we helped out with the Miracle League Foundation and I have gotten very close with one of the athletes. It has had a very positive impact on my life and I always enjoy helping out when I can.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is your intended or declared major and why did you choose that major?
EP: My major is Business-Management & Leadership and I chose this because I have good problem solving skills. Thanks momma.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Describe your dream job:
EP: My dream job is to be the General Manager of a Major League Baseball team.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  If you could play another sport at UNCW, what would it be and why?
EP: Golf. Although I'm not very good I really enjoy the game and like to play in my free time with some of my teammates.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Favorite team tradition/activity and why?
EP: Two-ball. This pre-game activity keeps all of the pitchers loose before the game and gives us a good chance to hang out together before locking in for the game.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Which teammate will have the most interesting job in 10 years and why?
EP: Nick Monroe. He can solve a Rubix cube in less than a minute and I'm sure he'll be doing something very interesting, if not playing baseball somewhere.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What animal would best describe you and why?
EP: A bee, because I hate not doing anything. I always keep myself busy.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is your favorite quote or phrase?
EP: Fall nine times, stand up ten.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is your favorite type of food (i.e. Chinese, Mexican, Italian etc.)?
EP: Italian.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Favorite place you have visited or traveled to and why?
EP: San Diego/LA with the team last season. It was my first time traveling to the west coast and we got to walk around Hollywood as a team.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  If you could sit down for lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
EP: Nolan Ryan. He was a great pitcher and is now an executive with the Astros, and I feel like I could learn a lot about the game from him.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Most addicting television show?
EP: Criminal Minds.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  How will you change the world (or even just one person's world)?
EP: I will change the world by giving 100% in everything I do.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  Tell us something about yourself that most people don't know …
EP: I am a dog lover.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What was your most-commented Facebook post about?
EP: Committing to UNCW.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is number one on your bucket list and why?
EP: Traveling around the world. I love history and I think there is a lot to see and learn about around the planet.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is your best non-athletic skill?
EP: Cooking.

EP: Incorrect usage of there, their, and they're.

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is something you are afraid of?
EP: Snakes

UNCWSPORTS.COM:  What is an obstacle you had to overcome in your life?
EP: Persisting in school and baseball throughout high school to give myself an opportunity to play college baseball.
