WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - UNCW head baseball coach Mark Scalf has announced the signings
of Corey Dick, Luke Dunlap, Justin Manning, Ryan Mayhew, Tyler Molinaro and
Jordan Ramsey to play for the Seahawks and continue their studies at UNCW in
the 2011-12 season.
"We're excited on every level with the class that has signed
for 2012," said Scalf, who enters his 20th season as head coach. "While this is
a small class in numbers, it is high on quality. Associate Head Coach Randy Hood and Assistant Coach Jason Howell have again done a superb job of
identifying talented and hard working players who fit the Seahawk mold and who
understand how to win."
The 2011-12 class consists of five high school players and a
junior college product.
Four of the six signees are ranked by Perfectgame.org. Jordan
Ramsey and Ryan Mayhew are ranked 17th and 23rd, respectively. Justin Manning
and Luke Dunlop are next at 28th and 29th, respectively.
Impact Baseball, meanwhile, lists all five high school
players in its state top 75. Ramsey is the highest future Seahawk at 22nd and
is followed by Mayhew and Dick at 34th and 35th, respectively. Manning (42nd)
and Dunlap (47th) round out the UNCW signees.

VI squad in the North Carolina State Games last summer while also playing in
the 2010 Impact Futures Game and the American Legion All-Star game. Dick won
the Home Run Derby at the American Legion All Star game festivities. "Corey is
a powerful lefthanded bat, who uses the entire field when hitting. He's pretty
advanced in his approach and ability at the plate." Dick is also the starting
tight end for Albemarle's football team.
Luke Dunlap (Walnut
Cove, N.C./East Forsyth) is an outfielder who has helped East Forsyth to
three Piedmont Triad Conference titles. The Fighting Eagles were runner-ups in
the 4A State Championship and ranked third in the final state poll. Dunlap is a

helped the Canes North 2011 team to the WWBA National Championship in East
Cobb, Georgia. "Luke is a solid athlete with great baseball awareness. He's a player who can create scoring
opportunities at either the top or bottom of the order."
Justin Manning
(Raleigh, N.C./Holly Springs) comes to the Seahawks from Holly Springs, a
school that has reached the 4A State tournament in each of the past three

collegiate hitter and has become a good defensive outfielder."
Ryan Mayhew (Clemmons,
N.C./West Forsyth) is a hard-throwing righty who has earned All-Central
Piedmont Conference honors as a sophomore and junior. As a sophomore, Mayhew went 5-0 with a pair of
saves. He also struck out 52 in 33 innings on the mound. In 2010, he helped the

second straight season. The Titans finished the year ranked ninth in the state.
Mayhew helped that charge with a 7-2 mark and a pair of saves. His 99 strikeouts ranked him ninth in the state. Last summer, he was the winning pitcher in the Gold Medal game at the State
Games of North Carolina. "Ryan is a very polished pitcher who can dominate by
