Brooks Field will once again become the hot bed of prep baseball beginning Tuesday as 150 of the most talented players in the eastern United States visit the Port City for the East Coast Professional Baseball Showcase beginning Tuesday. Some of the alumni of the prestigious event include David Wright (N.Y. Mets), Prince Fielder (Milwaukee Brewers), Matt Cain (San Francisco Giants) and Brian McCann (Atlanta Braves). Nine first-round selections in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft appeared at the ECPS. The event draws over 200 professional baseball scouts and college baseball coaches.
