CONWAY, S.C. – Four Seahawks recorded collegiate-best times at the 2026 Chanticleer Challenge Friday, led by
Elizabeth Dokulil's fourth-place finish in the women's 5K as UNCW posted top-three team finishes on both sides.
"Today was about building off the team mentality we had at our home meet, and what we saw was some tremendous efforts at the front and continuing to push our number one which was tremendous", said head coach
Jeff Klaves. "We're always looking for the top end of our group to be closer together and we saw that today with 3 tremendous PR's and we look to challenge the rest of the girls to keep hanging on longer throughout the race."
"On the men's side, we were looking to gain some early season experience in the 8K. We've had great short course efforts already this season and it's always a test of our fitness when we run our first 8K. At this point, we will take this meet and continue to trust our training and keep building towards the end. I look forward to seeing what the men will do in a couple of weeks when we race at ECU with another chance at the 8K."
The women's team led by Dokulil, who crossed the finish line in 18:10.43. The sophomore improved her previous collegiate best by more than 40 seconds, surpassing the 18:56.89 she recorded in her individual victory at the 2026 Wilmington Beach Blast.
