WILMINGTON, N.C. – The UNCW men's and women's cross-country teams will host the annual Wilmington Beach Blast on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Wilmington Municipal Golf Course.

Jeff Klaves. "A special thanks to the city and the golf course for giving us this opportunity to showcase the strength of running and cross country within our community. Entry is free to the event, so I encourage all community members to come stop by this Saturday to see a first-class cross-country event."
The event will begin at 7 a.m. and feature elementary, middle and high school junior varsity and varsity races, along with collegiate races. The collegiate men's 5K will begin at 7 a.m., followed by the women's 5K at 7:30 a.m.
The Seahawks will welcome Methodist University and Newberry College for the collegiate races.
On the women's side, sophomore
Elizabeth Dokulil will look to return to the podium after finishing third overall last season with a time of 19:45.63 to lead the Seahawks. Fellow sophomore
Jalyn DeLeon followed closely behind with a fourth-place finish in 19:51.33.
On the men's side, senior
Griffin Wald will look to capture his second Wilmington Beach Blast title after winning the men's 5K in 2023 with a career-best time of 15:23.74.

8:30 a.m.: Varsity Girls 5K
9 a.m.: High School Championship Boys 5K
9:30 a.m.: High School Championship Girls 5K
10 a.m.: High School JV Boys 5K
10:30 a.m.: High School JV Girls 5K
11 a.m.: Middle School Girls 2-Mile
11:30 a.m.: Middle School Boys 2-Mile
