UNCW To Play In College Baseball Series Spartanburg Event

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW will be one of four programs to play at the Spartanburg College Baseball Series, a new event in a series that includes seven tournaments spread throughout the country.

The tournament is set for Feb. 26-28, and joining the Seahawks are Austin Peay, Wofford, and Indiana. Wofford extended its streak to eight straight seasons of at least 30 wins. Austin Peay won 45 games and an ASUN Conference title in 2025. Indiana, meanwhile, has made three NCAA Regional appearances over the last seven seasons.

"Our program is excited to be a part of the first Spartanburg College Baseball series tournament next spring," said UNCW Head Coach Randy Hood, who will enter his eighth season leading the program in 2026-27. "It will be a great early-season weekend of baseball against three quality opponents and a great opportunity and experience to play in a very nice professional stadium. This group has done a terrific job over the last several years putting on early-season college tournaments in other parts of the country, and I anticipate this event being a fun, exciting weekend as well."

The Seahawks ran their streak of 30-win seasons, not counting 2020, to 18 in 2026 and have Coastal Athletic Association titles in 2023 and 2024.
