Steffen Takes CAA Honors Again

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW senior Lukas Steffen was honored for the second time this season on Tuesday as the Coastal Athletic Association's Player of the Week.

Steffen, who also earned the honor on Feb. 24, posted a 2-0 mark at No. 1 singles as UNCW defeated VCU (5-2) and narrowly fell to 64th-ranked Wichita State (4-3). The senior topped WSU's Ilias Worthington, 6-4, 6-3, to put the Seahawks ahead in the match. At VCU, he battled past Erwann Bouchet, 6-1, 1-6, 6-4, as UNCW earned a road victory.

The Seahawks host Drexel on Mar. 26 at 2 p.m. to open a three-match week at home, which includes DePaul (Mar. 28) and Queens (Mar. 29).
