Women's Track & Field Tunes Up For CAA Championships

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Head Coach Jeff Klaves and his women's indoor track and field program head to Liberty this weekend for their final tuneup in preparation for the Coastal Athletic Association championships later this month in Boston.

Freshman Abby Burleson leads UNCW's top-10 representatives in the league this indoor season, ranking third in the Pole Vault with a height of 12-9.5 feet set earlier this season at Liberty on Dec. 4.

Emma Crozier-Carole, a junior, ranks fourth in the Pentathlon with 3,321 points, a performance that also came in the season opener at Liberty in early December. Crozier-Carole also checks in at eighth in the Long Jump with a distance of 18-7.25 feet (Jan. 30).

In the 60 Hurdles, senior Brylee Montanari's time of 8.65 seconds is sixth among CAA competitors.

Ava Jayaraman set a freshman record in the Shot Put at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge in mid-January. Her mark was 42.-9.5.

Baily Tart, a senior, is ninth in the Pole Vault (12-3.5) and Myla Watson is 10th in the High Jump (5-6).

The 4x400 Relay is eighth with a time of 3:59.87, coming in the indoor opener in early December. The Distance Medley Relay, meanwhile, is fourth at 12:38.74.
