Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – UNCW women's tennis dominated Saint Francis on Thursday, earning a 7-0 shutout victory over the Red Flash for their second win of the season.
The Seahawks improved 2-4 with the win, while Saint Francis fell to 7-5.
"Our team played with a lot of togetherness today," head coach Hans Olsen said. "We had strong gains in this match from our feet to our minds. Go Hawks!"
In No. 1 doubles, Eda Arli and Elif Albayrak earned their third win of the season with a 6-2 triumph over Diana Zuba and Dasha Chichkina. Stela Joksimovic and Alicia Eberwein recorded their fourth win in No. 2 doubles, defeating Kelly Dowuona and Morgan Tuffs, 6-3.
Arli prevailed in a thrilling 10-8 tiebreaker against Zuba to claim her second win of the year in No. 1 singles. Joksimovic found the win column for the first time in 2025, cruising to a straight-set victory in No. 2 singles over Chichkina, 6-2, 6-2.
Lucia Gomez won her third straight match, defeating Dowuona 6-2, 6-4 in the no. 3 singles. In No. 4 singles, Albayrak rallied back from dropping the first set and defeated Kally Kadzinski 10-2 in the winner-take-all tiebreaker.
Alex Borcich also notched her third consecutive win and improved to 4-1 by beating Tuffs, 6-2, 6-3 in No. 5 singles. Alicia Eberwein earned a straight-set win in No. 6 singles, defeating Sophia Cunningham, 6-1, 6-4, for her first win of the 2025 season.
