Women's Tennis Falls At CofC, Awaits CAA Tourney Bid

CHARLESTON, S.C. – UNCW dropped its regular-season finale, 5-2, to the College of Charleston on Saturday at the Turner Tennis Center.

The Cougars pushed their record to 15-7 while the Seahawks dropped to 10-5.

Elif Albayrak and Eda Arli won at the number one doubles, 6-4, but CofC answered quickly with wins at two and three to secure the point.

In singles, CofC fashioned straight-set wins on courts one, five, and six to clinch the match.

Posting wins for UNCW were Albayrak (7-5, 2-6, 10-8) and Katelyn Hubbard (3-6, 7-6, 10-8) on courts two and three, respectively.

Simay Keles extended her match to three sets before bowing in a tie-breaker at number four singles.

The six-team field for the Coastal Athletic Association Championships will be announced on Apr. 13 at 3 p.m.
