Mitchum, Logan Post Top 10 Finishes in Spring Opener

ATLANTIC BEACH, Florida – The UNCW men's golf team teed off its spring slate with a fourth place showing at the Sea Best Invitational hosted by Jacksonville University from Feb. 3-4 at the Atlantic Beach Country Club.

The Seahawks were one of four teams to post a below-par tournament with a 282-283-282=847 showing. Texas A&M finished first followed by Florida Gulf Coast and Florida Atlantic.

The Aggies completed a tournament sweep with Phickaksn Maichon capturing individual medalist honors by two strokes over the Eagles' Brett Moore.

UNCW's Gray Mitchum and John Logan each posted a one-under 70 score in the third round to earn a six-way share of ninth place while the Seahawks' James Rico tied for 15th with a 73-69-70=212 scorecard.

The Seahawks will next turn their attention to The Prestige hosted by Stanford from Feb. 17-19 in LaQuinta, Calif.
