WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW women's soccer forward Hailey Longwell was named the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association Attacking Player of the Year, and Chris Neal earned 2025 CAA Coach of the Year honors to headline the postseason awards haul for the Seahawks.
After transferring to UNCW from Duquesne during the offseason, Longwell, a redshirt sophomore from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, became the Seahawks' first-ever CAA Attacking Player of the Year since the program's inception in 1994.
Longwell led all players in the CAA with six goals and 15 points during conference play. She also tallied at least one point against all opponents in the CAA South Division, including two match-winning goals.
Longwell has scored at least one point in seven straight matches and leads the team with seven goals. She is currently tied for the most assists on the squad with four.
Neal earned CAA Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career after guiding the Seahawks to the 2025 CAA South Division Championship and the No. 1 overall seed for the postseason tournament.
After being picked fourth in the league's preseason poll, UNCW improved its win total from the 2024 campaign by seven. The Seahawks finished the 2025 regular season with an 11-3-3 overall record and a 7-0-2 record in league play, marking the first time in program history that the Seahawks ended a full slate of conference play undefeated.
UNCW also became the first team in the CAA since 2019 to finish a non-shortened conference season unbeaten.
Sophomore defender Ava Chuderewicz joined Longwell on the league's first team. Chuderewicz started in all 17 of UNCW's matches and led the team with 1,447 minutes played, finishing the regular season with two goals and one assist.
Both of Chuderewicz's goals came against two teams that qualified for the league's postseason tournament, including the match-winner against Stony Brook on Oct. 19.
She also helped the Seahawks' defensive unit keep five clean sheets during the season, including three during conference play.
Junior defender Rachel Fry, redshirt junior goalkeeper Morgan Hobbs and sophomore midfielder Ava Vaughan all earned a spot on the league's second team.
Fry was fifth on the team with 1,302 minutes played. She scored one goal and added two assists, all during conference play.
Hobbs finished the regular season with a 10-3-3 record and a 7-0-2 mark in conference play, the most conference wins by any CAA goalkeeper this season.
During the regular season, Hobbs posted four solo clean sheets and combined for one shutout.
Hobbs made 43 saves on the year and had a goals against average of 1.02, allowing the second-fewest goals in the league while having the second-best goals against average out of all goalkeepers in the CAA.
She was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 22 following two shutout victories against Monmouth, the 2025 CAA North Division Champions, and Northeastern. Hobbs also matched her career-high with six saves in both matches.
Vaughan played in all 17 of UNCW's matches and scored three goals on the season, all during conference play, including the match-winners against Hofstra and Northeastern.
Freshman midfielder Lindsay Lenhard earned a spot on the league's all-rookie team.
Lenhard has tallied at least one point in three of her last four matches, scoring goals in UNCW's victories against Hampton and Stony Brook while adding an assist in the win against William & Mary.
UNCW will host the 2025 CAA Semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. The top-seeded Seahawks will play the winner of No. 2 William & Mary and No. 3 Elon.
