UNCW Opens 2026 Season With Maryland

The 2026 season kicks off on Feb. 13 for the Seahawks

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW head baseball coach Randy Hood has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2026 season.

"We have another schedule loaded with opportunities to earn RPI wins, both at home and on the road," said Hood, who enters his seventh season as head coach. "We'll play home-and-homes with North Carolina, NC State and East Carolina and added a weekend home series with Maryland and UConn, which finished with 38 wins and in the top-40 of the RPI."

UNCW is set for 32 home games in 2026, beginning with a three-game series against Maryland to open the series on Feb. 13-15.

The Seahawks visit Jacksonville for three games on Mar. 6-8.

The 2026 Coastal Athletic Association season will take on a different look as the conference splits into two divisions. Programs will play 30 conference games, with all but two series being played within their division. The Seahawks visit Stony Brook (Apr. 2-4) and host Hofstra (Apr. 17-29) in their only non-division conference series.

UNCW opens conference play with Elon at Brooks Field on Mar. 13-15. UNCW will play the Phoenix, College of Charleston and Campbell six times each. William & Mary visits Mar. 27-29, while the Seahawks head to North Carolina A&T on May 8-10.

Brooks Field will host the conference tournament in 2026 for a record 14th time. The top two programs in each division will earn automatic berths, with the remaining two berths being determined by RPI.

UNCW played in the conference championship for the ninth time in the last 10 seasons in 2025. The Seahawks saw five players drafted, including CAA Pitcher of the Year Zane Taylor, who went in the fifth round to the Athletics and made his professional debut at the AAA level in mid-September.

Hood welcomed 19 newcomers to the program this fall.
