CARY, N.C. – Alex de Gabriele and Jordi Domenech advanced to the doubles quarterfinals at the 2025 International Tennis Association Regionals with two thrilling wins on Saturday afternoon at Cary Tennis Park.
After a win in the round of 64 on Friday, de Gabriele and Domenech earned two thrilling victories to be one of the final eight teams remaining in the tournament.
The Seahawks' pairing punched their ticket to the quarterfinals with an 8-6 victory in the round of 16 against Lucas Andrade da Silva and Paul Barbier Gazeu (South Carolina).
The duo began their afternoon with an 8-7 (3) victory in the round of 32 against Enzo Bordini Garutti and Rivers Cahill (Coastal Carolina).Â
For de Gabriele, it marks the second straight season he has reached the quarterfinals of doubles at the ITA Regional Championships.
On Sunday, de Gabriele and Domenech will play their quarterfinal match at 11 a.m. against Massimo Pizzigoni and Emilio Sanchez (Charlotte).
