CARY, N.C. – UNCW men's tennis sent four players to the main draw of singles competition on the opening day of the International Tennis Association Regionals at Cary Tennis Park.

Oscar Baumgartner, Alex de Gabriele, Brady Hussey and Lukas Steffen advanced to the main draw of the tournament. They joined Seahawk teammate Jordi Domenech, who was in the main draw at the start of the tournament.

The Seahawks went 11-5 in singles on the first day of the event, highlighted by singles victories from Steffen against Cole Henceroth of South Carolina, and de Gabriele's win against Nicholas Mangiapane of North Carolina. 

The Seahawks are back in action on Friday at 9 a.m. for the second day of the tournament.
