Volleyball Adds Two For 2025

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW head volleyball coach Lo Hoyer has announced the additions of Olivia Heidel and Avery Markham to the program beginning with the 2025 season.

"I am ecstatic to add Avery and Liv to our roster," said Hoyer. "Avery is a solid pin hitter and will add depth and stability to our left side position. Liv will be pivotal in setting the foundation for the culture and standards of the program while adding championship experience in running an offense."

Heidel played last season for Hoyer at Indiana University Pennsylvania (IUP) where they helped the Crimson Hawks to their third straight NCAA Division II appearance. In her lone season with IUP, she averaged 7.69 assists per set and recorded six double-doubles. Heidel fashioned a career-high with 52 assists and added 12 digs against Wheeling at the NCAA Regional.

Markham comes to UNCW from North Alabama, where she earned All-Freshman honors in the ASun Conference in 2023. As a freshman, she was named ASun Rookie of the Week three times. At outside hitter, she averaged 1.5 kills per set over the course of 17 matches.
